2026 Junior Firefighter Academy
We are proud to announce the annual Junior Fire Academy. This year’s academy will be open to junior firefighters aged 14-17 seeking to expand their knowledge and skills in delivering emergency services, while experiencing challenging and important life lessons in character, integrity, responsibility, discipline, accountability, teamwork, and leadership. Participants will build upon each other’s skills daily. Each day will begin at 0800 hrs. and go until 1700 hrs.
The three-day academy will focus on engine, truck, and rescue company operations, while providing participants with the opportunity to put the skills learned into practical use during hands-on skill stations.
All of these events will lead up to a live skills drill for family and friends to see firsthand the skills obtained through the academy. This will end with a graduation ceremony for participants to celebrate their achievements.
Uniform each day will be black or blue shorts and a T-shirt from your host department.
Registration will open on May 1st and will be open until June 1st. Registration is available to both in and out of county agencies at the start of registration.
